Non-Anesthesia Teeth Cleaning
for Dogs & Cats

A refined, cosmetic service held to exceptional standards.
Gentle. Calm. Trusted.

Our Process

Calm Bite is built around a calm, grounded experience that prioritizes trust, comfort, and respect for the animal.

Each appointment typically lasts one hour and is intentionally unrushed. Pets are seated comfortably on our lap while we work on the floor—Never on a Table—allowing them to remain relaxed and at ease throughout the service. Pets are Never Restrained or Sedated at any point.

We use an Ultrasonic Cleaning System that gently loosens visible surface buildup through vibration rather than pressure. This allows us to clean the teeth without manual scraping of the enamel, supporting a more comfortable experience.

We finish with a light polish, leaving the teeth clean and smooth.

Above all, our priority is that every pet leaves feeling calm, respected, and having had a positive experience.

A calmer way to care for your pet’s smile.

"Calm Bite truly lives up to its name."

“From start to finish, the experience felt thoughtful. The environment was calm, the handling was gentle, and my dog was treated like an individual not a task. I was shocked at how much buildup was removed without sedation. Highly recommend for anxious pets.”

Thoughtful Answers, Clearly Explained

Clear information to help you understand our process, what to expect, and whether this service is right for your pet.

No. Non-anesthesia teeth cleaning has been established for decades. Calm Bite’s approach is rooted in the work of our founder’s mother, Sylvia Macdonald, who began offering non-anesthesia teeth cleaning in 1996 after the landmark Macdonald case clarified the legal distinction between cosmetic cleaning and veterinary dental procedures.

With a lifetime in the pet care industry, her work helped shape the standards that allow cosmetic, non-anesthetic teeth cleaning to exist today. Calm Bite continues this legacy by exclusively providing ultrasonic teeth cleaning, using vibration rather than pressure to support a calm, comfortable experience.

Most clients choose to schedule every 6–12 months, depending on the pet. Factors such as age, breed, diet, chewing habits, and genetics can all influence how often visible buildup appears.

No. Calm Bite does not use anesthesia, sedation, or medication of any kind.

Pets are never restrained. Dogs and cats are seated comfortably on our lap during the service. For cats, a light blanket or towel may be gently wrapped around the front paws. This is not a restraint—it is a supportive, calming hold designed to prevent pawing at the tool or mouth and to help the cat feel secure and settled.

Comfort and a positive experience always come first.

No. Calm Bite is not a veterinary service and does not replace professional veterinary dental care. Pets with dental disease, pain, infection, or other medical concerns should be evaluated by a licensed veterinarian.

A Letter from the Founder

The daughter of the founder of Non-Anesthesia Teeth Cleaning.

My mother was a Groomer and handler whose passion for animal wellbeing shaped everything that followed. My earliest memories are of sweeping pet hair, answering the phone, and standing on a chair behind the counter just to speak with clients in the grooming salon. Long before Calm Bite existed, animals were already at the center of my life.

We are not veterinarians and do not diagnose, treat, or perform medical procedures. Calm Bite provides cosmetic, non-anesthesia teeth cleaning for pets, focused on improving the appearance of the teeth while prioritizing comfort.
